Welcome to the Subsane Records blog. We've spent the last few months creating music with generative artificial intelligence music programs and now we've decided to share our progress.

Suno is an innovative platform designed to democratize music creation using artificial intelligence. Founded by a team of musicians and AI experts from tech giants like Meta, TikTok, and Kensho, Suno aims to make music creation accessible to everyone, regardless of their musical background. Suno users can create full, radio-quality songs in various styles and genres simply by providing text prompts​.

We're not sure what exactly triggered our interest in Suno. We'd been aware of the program for the last few months because of our interests in AI and when they released their V3 update in March 2024 we decided to take a closer look.

Suno's v3 update significantly improves audio quality, expands the range of styles and genres, and enhances prompt adherence so we decided to give it a try and within 10 days, we had created several songs. Some were better than others, but we were absolutely amazed by the results. We love music but have no formal training, no ability to play an instrument, and no singing skills, so Suno has been a revelation.

We started by making some trip-hop and dubstep tracks, which eventually evolved into moody post-punk. The results were astonishing. Never in our wildest dreams did we think we would be able to make the sort of music we love, let alone share those creations with the world as a means of self-expression.

This is something completely different for us. It's slightly daunting but new and exciting at the same time. We've always loved to play around with various forms of creative expression, so when we discovered AI music, it felt like a natural progression. You could say it became an artificial extension of our human curiosity, pushing the boundaries of what we can create.

So, bear with us if things don’t make much sense at times. We’re just winging it and making it up as we go along. After all, we're exploring a whole new frontier in sound and vision; one that challenges us to rethink our creative processes and embrace the unknown.

We're thrilled to have you here for the ride. Your support and interest mean the world to us as we navigate this uncharted territory. Looking ahead, we plan to continue exploring the vast potential of AI in music creation. Additionally, we want to experiment with blending different genres and incorporating more complex musical elements into our tracks.

The possibilities are endless, and we can't wait to see where this journey takes us.
